For those unfamiliar with classic horror movies from Universal Pictures, Boris Karloff was the actor who portrayed Frankenstein’s monster in the 1931 film Frankenstein and Imhotep in The Mummy the next year. Tatuaje’s Pete Johnson has been releasing cigars inspired by classic horror movies since 2008. Fans of the Tatuaje Monster Series might recall a similarly named cigar called The Boris in 2009. The idea was to commemorate the actors behind the monsters as well as the monsters themselves, and Johnson never abandoned the theme.
Measuring 5 5/8 inches by 49 ring gauge, the Boris Karloff is a full inch shorter than 2020’s Karloff but retains the same thickness. Both have an all-Nicaraguan blend under an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper.
According to the company, the cigar is medium-full in terms of strength.
Made in Nicaragua at My Father Cigars S.A., the Boris Karloff is limited to 1,000 boxes of 20, or 20,000 cigars.
